Great news

Our well is fixed and it was simple!  The crew found the problem only three lengths of pipe into the job!  That's right... only 63 of my 275 feet of well pipe and pump wiring had to be pulled.  As it turns out, the pump is fine.  The wiring had blown.  When the pump runs, it shakes way down in there.  When it shakes, it makes the wiring rub against the well casing.  This rubbing caused a weak spot that eventually blew out.  So, all the guys had to do was cut out the bad part and splice the wiring back together, drop the pipe/wire back down the well shaft and, voila!, water flowed sweetly again!  The crew was packed up and well on their way (pardon the pun!) by 11:00.
the scene as the pipe was being pulled
We are truly grateful beyond words that our well was fixed so simply, quickly and effectively.  We discovered while chatting with neighbors that we have some of the only sweet, delicious water around.  Unfortunately, most everyone around here has lots of iron in their water.  We do not.  In other words, our well is a good one, pumping great water that requires no treatment what-so-ever and we are SO happy for that!

As promised, here are a couple photos of last week's progress....
WOW!  That's one clean attic!
not-so-great, far-away shot of some happily fed raspberries
I know the photos aren't that exciting, but it was the best I could do on this dark and stormy day.  As soon as I get the chance, I'll snap more!

Love you all - my count down begins, I booked the Little Creek last night and asked for them to make the pool off limits to everyone in the hotel except Cedar and Sequoia, and of course you and Steven and us! can't wait to see you all again
